Everyone thinks about Kramer vs Kramer (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) as a divorce drama, but in fact, it is only a tiny part of it. The story concentrates on Ted Kramer, a career man first, then a husband with very old-fashioned ideas about parenthood. But after his wife, Joanna leaves him one evening, he accepts the challenge and embarks on a beautiful journey of reconnection with his son, Billy.
There has been so much saying about the film I could not possibly add anything of value. But 40 years have passed, The Marriage Story (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) released, and there has been a lot of talk about it in the media again. That is why I decided to watch it again 20 years after seeing it for the first time.
I must admit, it aged pretty well. Even though some reviewers see it as not without flaws, I wouldn’t describe it as anything less than terrific. And looking at Hoffman and Streep leaves me breathless and dumb with amazement at how great their acting once was. The ending is a crowd-pleaser, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
